General Rules
Scoring Type: Head-to-Head
Stat Categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, HLD
Max Moves: No maximum (During Reg. Season, Call-ups only during playoffs)
Max Trades: No maximum
Trade reject time: 1 days
Trade end date: Last Monday in August
Min Innings Pitched: 25
Definitions:
In-Season: January 1st 12:00:00 AM of each year until Fantasy Playoffs begin
Playoff Season: 1st day of Fantasy Playoffs until end of Fantasy Playoffs each year
Off-Season: End of Fantasy Playoffs until Dec 31 11:59:59 PM of each year
Standings will be based on the Fan Trax Head-to-Head—One Win process as outlined below:
Each team will square off in a weekly matchup against another manager's team to see who can compile the best stats across a number of different categories. 6x6
A new weekly matchup begins every Monday and will consist of a set number of games based on your league's statistical categories. Each stat category counts as one "run", with the score being credited to the team that finishes the week with the highest total in that category (the cumulative total after each Sunday's games).
So, if in a given week, your team hits more home runs than your opponent's, you would be credited with a run. But, if your opponent's team ended the week with more saves then your team, he/she would be given a run. If the two teams end up tied in a given category, neither receives credit for the run.
At the conclusion of each week, whichever team has scored the most runs will get credit for a win, while the opponent gets charged with a loss. If the two sides end up tied in runs, both teams get credit for a tie in the standings.
This weekly win-loss total will be added to a cumulative season record, which will be used to determine standings and playoff seedings. These standings will be based on your team's overall winning percentage, which is calculated by taking your win total and adding 1/2 of your tie total and dividing the sum by the total number of games your team has played.
This league is meant to be a competitive and active league. Every manager is expected to play and manage their teams in a competitive manner throughout the season. Adjusting the active lineup, daily or weekly is a must to promote a competitive league. Managers thought to be "tanking" for any reason, will be questioned by the League. If the League finds that the team is guilty of "tanking" their roster for any reason, that manager may be removed from the league. If two managers are thought to be colluding to benefit only one of the teams, they will be questioned by the League. If the League finds that there was indeed collusion both parties will be removed from the league. "tanking and colluding" will not be tolerated from anyone - including the League Commish. Should a manager not meet roster and salary deadlines (Jan 1 of each year, beginning of the MLB season) the League may seek an immediate replacement without notice.
I. In-Season
A. Roster
1. Each team will have a 25 man maximum MLB roster.
2. The 25 man roster will be comprised of the following positions:
a. Hitters: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util
b. Pitchers: SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP
c. Bench: BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN
d. IL maximum the host website allows
3. If a player goes on the IL, you can also put him on one of your IL spots. Each team will have the maximum IL spots allowed by the hosting website. While on the IL their salary will not count against your salary cap. However once the player is taken off the IL in real life you must take him off your IL. If the player is not taken off the IL, a warning PM will be issued to the team by the commish and if that team does not take action, the commish shall take binding action to fix the situation.
4. If you put a player on the IL you must either call up a minor leaguer or sign a free agent to fill that spot. Minor leaguers called up to replace an injured player. Free agents signed as injury replacement players are exempt from any roster mandates (7 day minimum requirement on active roster). A team cannot change the designated replacement player from one player to another, however after roster mandates have been met (7 days on active roster) you can release your designated player and pick up another player, he just won't be designated a replacement player and is subject to roster mandates (7 day minimum requirement on active roster). The replacement player's salary will be the salary of record, not the player's salary placed on the IL.
5. To make a IL move you must post the following on the league message board:
a. Who you are placing on the IL
b. Who you are replacing him with, this will be your designated replacement player.
7. It is mandated that each manager maintains a transaction log for their team. (proboards thread)
8. Each team is required to fill minimum position requirements with "active" players ("active" players is defined as a player who is currently on a MLB team and not being on the IL or in the minor leagues). Bench positions may be filled with active or inactive players.
B. Signing Free Agents
1. Only players listed as active by a MLB team are able to be picked up, at their previous years salary (ex.: 2023 salary for our 2024 season, 2022 salary for our 2023 season etc.), unless they are on another teams' minor league roster or if they have a IL by their name designated by the fantasy host site. A FA pickup can't put you over the cap or roster size. The League will drop any player that would be defined as an illegal move and post the reason why. Any player signed via free agency must remain on your roster for one full week, regardless of their actual level of play (IL designee exception), A player that meets criteria to be demoted to the minors must remain on your team for one calendar month of the regular season (ex: June 1 until July 1) before being demoted (if player still qualifies to be demoted).
- Players drafted in any MLB draft cannot be picked up during the same fantasy season they were drafted by the MLB.
2. As of the start of the 2024 season, weekly transactions are unlimited, provided that each transaction meets all other rules, including those governing the minimum length of time a player must stay on the active roster.
3. Player salaries can be found here - mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/, referred to as COTS.
a. Any player not found or without a useable salary listed by his name will be the MLB league minimum for that season. ($700K)
b. The League will check all transactions for accuracy and make corrections if necessary which may involve releasing the player signed.
4. A transaction post must be created as described above for each free agent signing.
5. Free Agent signings are not allowed the day the fantasy playoffs begin until 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the new MLB regular season, unless directed otherwise by the League Commish.
C. Trades/Veto
1. When you and another team complete a trade you must post it on the message board and that you accept it and the other team must post that he confirms it within 48 hours of the initial post or the trade is vetoed. Confirmation puts the trade in the league's hands and it cannot be rescinded by either party.
2. You may not make a trade that puts you over your max cap or under the min cap. Any trade posted that would cause this to occur will be vetoed.
3. Minor league-eligible players that are signed as free agents and then traded are still required to meet the guideline that the player stays on a MLB active/IL roster for one consecutive calendar month of the regular season or until the MLB season ends. Time served shall be the amount of time the player has spent on the active roster for the two teams combined, and does include any time spent on the DL. After that, they can be demoted but will lose a minor league option.
4. Minor league draft picks are up for trade but clauses & coverage cannot be put on them. Clauses, but not coverage, can be placed on MiLB players as it would relate to being called up to their actual MLB parent club. Only picks for the next upcoming draft can be traded. Teams cannot trade any picks that are for a draft two seasons out. For example, if the next upcoming draft is the 2011 Minor Draft, then only picks for the 2011 Minor draft can be traded. Picks for the 2025 Minor Draft cannot be traded until the 2024 Minor Draft has been completed.
5. Cash may not be traded.
HERE
6. Trades will be allowed to provide for players specifically named to be traded at a future, specifically-stated date, that the team holding the player cannot promote/demote/release/trade the named player (with an exception for being able to promote the player once the player's minor league limits have been exceeded); IL movement is permitted. The team acquiring the rights cannot trade the rights of the named player until the date they officially take over those rights, with the exception of the team from which they are acquiring the player.
7. To veto a trade, you can e-mail a league official, post on the message board. All vetoes have to include a reason or they won't count. The final decision will come down to the league office's decision.
8. No trade is official until the League approves it and the League has the right to veto any trade and will post the reason.
8. Coverage
a. You may provide coverage in trades. Examples of coverage are:
1). I trade X player with 2 million coverage for 1 year.
b. (1) year of coverage is the max you can attach to a traded player.
c. The players coverage will be voided if he is traded or released from his current team. Also coverage can be opted out of by the receiving team at any time.
d. Coverage must be tied to a player and cannot exceed that player's salary.
9. Clauses
a. Clauses are usually injury or performance related but can be about anything. An example would be:
1). If X player fails to start 25 games this season then I give you my 2nd rd pick
b. Just like with coverage, clauses become void if the player involved is traded or released from current team.
10. At no time will a trade be allowed that cannot be finalized.
D. Minors
1. Each team may hold up to but no more than 20 minor leaguers in their system.
a. A player becomes ineligible to be on a MiLB roster after he gets more than 250 at bats or 80 innings pitched. He may remain on your MiLB roster until the fantasy season ends but you must call him up or he will become a free agent by the deadline date after the season in which he reaches the limits.
b. A player will stay in your minor league system until he is either traded, released, runs out of options or becomes ineligible because of at bats or innings pitched.
c. No limit on how many times you can call up or send down a milb eligible player. Must keep them up for 7 days after the call up is all.
2. To call up a minor leaguer you must make a post stating which player you are calling up and who you are dropping.
3. To demote a minor leaguer you must state which player you are adding and that you are demoting that minor leaguer. If you do not state you are demoting him within 48 hours of dropping him then you will lose your rights to that player and he will become a free agent.
4. All players won in the auction (or drafted during a MLB Draft) that start out the season in real life in the minor leagues must stay on a MLB active roster for one consecutive calendar month of the regular season. After that, they can be demoted but will lose a minor league option. Other than this exception minor leaguers and the exception listed above minor leaguers can be demoted at any time irregardless of roster mandates.
E. Schedule
1. The regular season schedule will be made by the Host Fantasy Site and the playoffs teams and schedule will determined be the format stated below.
II. Playoff Season
A. Our league is separated into two leagues (AL and NL) and 4 divisions total, 2 in each league. Each division winner will make the playoffs along with the 2 wild card teams from each league.
B. Tiebreakers situations for playoff seedings are determined by
1. Overall season record
2. Head-to-Head match up
3. total regular season wins
4. Division Record (to be used only in cases where both teams are from the same division)
5. NL/AL league record
6. computer-generate tie-breaking system
C. Playoff format:
1. 1st round: #1 vs #4, #2 vs #3
2. 2nd round: winner vs winner
3. World Series: winner vs other league's winner
D. There will be no free agent signings allowed during the playoffs. Only call-ups from your minor league system will be allowed. 25 man roster limits are not mandated during this time and players can be released without penalty.
III. Off-Season
A. Awards And Bonuses
1. At the end of the playoffs, cash will be given to reward teams for their performance:
a. Teams eliminated in 1st round will receive $250,000
b. Teams eliminated in 2nd round will receive $500,000

h. Managers of each league's Most Valuable Player Award will receive $250,000
3. No team can earn more than $2,500,000 in bonuses.
4. Every two years, beginning going into the 2024 season, each team will receive an additional $5mil in cap money to spend. This will be on top of the cash awards given each year. A ceiling will be discussed after the 2026 season.
2024: Each team given $150,000,000 to sign players
2026: +$5m
2028: +$5m
2030: +$5m
B. Minors
1. During every off-season we will hold a 5 round minor league draft. The draft order will be the opposite of the previous year's final regular season standings. In case of a tie the previous season's final regular standings will be used to determine placement.
a. During the minor league draft you may draft only players drafted and signed by MLB teams with no MLB experience in any 1st years player draft or amateur players signed during any MLB International signing period, excluding Pro players from Cuba, Japan, Korea etc.
b. Trades involving minor league picks can be approved after 6 hours of review, no trade is official until the League approves it.
c. At no time will a trade be allowed that cannot be finalized.
d. Each team will have 6 Hours to make their selection after they are "On The Clock" (The "Clock" is suspended from 9 PM Central to 7 AM Central). Failure to make a selection in the allotted time will cause the team to be skipped and the next team will be OTC, the skipped team can make up their pick at any time.
e. Being skipped twice in succession may cause the skipped manager to be replaced
IV. In-Season (2)
A. There will be a roster freeze as the League verifies all roster numbers are correct on January 1st of each year. or as stated by commish
B. Every team's salary must be under its maximum cap by January 1st as the new year rolls in.
C. All teams have to be at 25 players or less by January 1st as the new year rolls in.
V. Auctions
A. All players not on anyone's major or minor league teams are eligible for the auction at the end of the off-season. A team can not re-sign any player that they dropped during the off-season for less than their original value.
1. The player must have MLB experience, foreign players signed to a MLB team or signed to a minor league contract are also eligible.
B. To make a bid on a player you can do one of two things:
1. If it is a new player auction, then you must create a new thread with that player's name/team/pos as the subject. In the body you can place your bid.
2. If it is an existing player auction, then you just need to post a reply to the original thread with your bid.
C. The minimum bid for a player is 20% of what their salary is listed at or the league minimum salary for that year, whichever is greater. The minimum increase in a bid is $100,000.
D. To win the player you must make the highest bid. You can't go over your salary cap to win a player and you can't go over your roster limit. Also your bid must be the highest bid for 24 hours.
E. The auction period will last until all bidding has ended for 24 hours. After that teams with full rosters you will be allowed to drop, promote and demote players, but you won't be able to add free agents until a date to be determined each year before the MLB season begins.
F. Any player won in auction will have the winning bid as their salary for that year only. After that, if the team decides to keep him, his salary will be that of his actual salary as shown in the player salary database. Example: Team A wins Joe Blow in auction for $5mil., his salary for our upcoming season will be $5,000,000. The following year, Joe Blow's salary, if retained by Team A, will be his real life salary of $8,000,000 (or whatever his previous year's salary is listed at on the database site). If a player won in auction is dropped during the season by the winning team, then any other team that wishes to pick that player up will pay his actual salary - not the winning auction bid salary. The team that won him in auction will pay either the auction value or his real life salary whichever is higher.
G. All players won in auction must stay on your MLB roster for one consecutive calendar month of the regular season before they can be demoted or released.
1. A player that is under the MiLB maximum limits for AB/IP can be demoted after they have fulfilled the one month requirement, but his auction salary will still count against your team cap.
2. Foreign players that start the season in the majors are not eligible to be sent down.
3. A player won in auction may be traded by the winning team, but the auction salary (and one month requirement, if not already fulfilled) will transfer to the new team.
H. All teams that do not have 25 players after the auction is completed may sign free agents at full value until they have a full roster, but must remain at or below their salary cap in doing so.
